Year 3 have been learning about light as part of Science this term. They began by working in teams to sort objects which are sources of light from those which are not.
They discussed that darkness is the absence of light. Then they used their sense of touch to identify the items in the feely bags!
They used the lovely weather to their advantage and made some shadows.
They investigated how transparent, translucent and opaque materials cast different patterns of light. They helped Isaac to choose some materials for his baby sister’s nursery to help her sleep. They tested the materials and then explained their choices.
We are looking forward to learning more about light as this term continues!
