Dear Parents
We are fast approaching the end of the year so just time for a short update from the SPA.
We have had all the expenses claimed and income counted up from our recent Winter Wonderland and I delighted to be able to tell you the revised figure is a few pounds shy of FIVE THOUSAND POUNDS. This is a fantastic sum and represents our best ever Winter Fete. This is truly amazing so on behalf of the SPA we would like to thank all who attended the event.
Some of this money has already been spent on a set of sweat shirt jumpers with the school logo and the word Choir embroidered on them. Those of you who made it into Town last Sunday for the Hitchin Gala day were treated to a splendid performance of the newly formed School Choir. Not only did they sing well they all looked the part in the new choir jumpers. Well done to the Choir.
FUTURE EVENTS
On Friday 18th January 2013 there will be the annual Beetle Drive
On Saturday 9th February 2013 we will be bringing back by popular demand the ‘Bollywood Night’. There will be Indian drumming and disco, home cooked Indian food and of course a licensed bar Anyone who came last year will tell you what a great evening it was.
Then finally on Wednesday 20th March 2013 we are holding a Ladies Pamper Night. You will be able to book mini treatments with the specialists who will be on hand to pamper to you every need!
We hope to hold another event on Friday 26th April 2013 either a race night or a quiz night.
More details of all these events will follow shortly
NEXT MEETING
The next SPA meeting will be held in School on Monday evening 4th February this will also be our AGM where we will be electing a new chairman and some new members to the committee. This will also be our opportunity to ratify a change to our year end. You are all welcome to come along and find out a little more about the workings of the SPA, how much money we raise and how the School spends it.
This will also be the last newsletter from me as chair of the SPA. I have served the maximum four year term and will be handing over to a new chairman at the AGM. It has been a fantastic experience and a huge privilege serving on the SPA and I would recommend it to all parents to get involved in your School. I will of course continue to support the new chairman and the SPA at events.
