There is sometimes confusion over the clubs that we offer as extra-curricular activities and wrap around care.
From May 2016 the DfE have produced new guidance https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/525135/Rights_to_request_guidance.pdf about the rights to request Wraparound Care. The governors have considered this carefully with regard to the use of school for out of hours activities for extra-curricular clubs and Wraparound care.
Our extra – curricular clubs are not part of the main curriculum although they are run in school, either at lunchtime or after school.Most clubs are managed by William Ransom staff and may be cancelled if a member of staff is attending training elsewhere or if something is happening in school and we need the workspace. Where there are external coaches coming in a small charge is sometimes made.
Wrap around care offers childcare before and after school and is usually run by an external provider. We do not offer this on site as, with the large number of extra-curricular activities we offer we have no suitable available space. However we work closely with local providers and child minders and off-site provision is available – if this is something you would like to access please come and talk to us in the school office.The provisions currently used by some of our parents are:
