The William Ransom Orbit

And so another year draws near to the end, and what a year it has been!

Looking back the biggest highlight for me has to be the visit from Ofsted back in December. We were all delighted to come out of that with an Outstanding Grade and I firmly believe that we earned it through all the hard work that is going on in school all the time.

However, there are things that happen in school on a regular basis which have also been a great highlight! The Exciting Writing Day with a parachute landing on the field and lots of wonderful trips and visits. The year 6 residential trip to North Wales was fantastic once again! We have 6 action-packed days, walking, climbing, orienteering and having a great time. The Year 6s were great company and I think everyone had an amazing time!

Looking ahead to next year we are already planning some interesting trips and we are looking at a whole new approach to our PSHE lessons – thinking about what the important values are in our lives. We may also have building work going on if Hertfordshire County Council decide they want us to be a bigger school. As soon as I know what is happening, I will let you all know.

I want to thank the Orbit Team for their superb work again this year. They have produced three fantastic editions and I am extremely grateful to them and to Mrs Stephenson and Mrs Thorn, for all their work.

I hope everyone has a lovely summer break. Let’s hope the sun keeps shining and that everyone stays safe!
