The William Ransom Orbit

This term our values have been kindness and trust.

I have spent a great deal of time talking to some of you about these values and how we can show them in school. It is lovely to see how our Values Tree is growing so many leaves which means these values are being seen around school.

I have also been delighted with the number of Achievers Stickers I have been giving out as well as Head Teacher Award stickers and Head Teacher’s Certificates. There is some amazing work going on around school and it is lovely when we can all get to share it. Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary were especially impressed with the quality of writing seen in their Young Writer’s competition. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to Ribhya who was the overall winner.

Another area which has greatly impressed me is the work done by the Art Club. We are extremely lucky to have Kay Watson coming in to work with a group of Year 5 & 6 on a Monday after school and the work they have produced is phenomenal! If you have a chance, pop into Elm and see some of their work. It is amazing!

So looking ahead to the summer term our values will be Resilience and Thoughtfulness. Do you know what resilience means? It means you don’t give up easily and you can cope with stressful situations. This is an important value for you all but especially Year 6 as they begin their last term before moving on to Secondary School.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter break and return refreshed for all the excitement of the summer term!
