The Lion King

We are very excited to be starting work towards our production of The Lion King at the end of the summer term for all Key Stage 2 children

We are going to start with some workshop style rehearsals to get the music embedded before we cast the show and from this we will be able to see potential in pupils in order to audition and cast the show.

Initially rehearsals will be on a Thursday after school which I realise does clash with Young Engineers but this will not preclude the children from being involved in The Lion King or from auditioning for a part. I am keen that they stay with their commitments for other clubs and I will make sure that they have an opportunity to pick up the music we have done. However, due to my own commitments there may be occasions when the day changes. You will always be notified well in advance and again if it clashes with another club, pupils must attend that club. I understand that many children have outside commitments on a Thursday and if I can work alongside these I will endeavour to do so. Please ask your child to talk to me and we will attempt to find a resolution.

I will produce a rehearsal schedule every few weeks showing when rehearsals will be and who will be needed. The first rehearsal will be on 24th January followed by the 31st January, 7th & 14th February.

If your child is interested in taking part please ensure you complete a permission slip and return it to school as soon as possible. I cannot allow children to stay after school if I have not had a permission slip.

This show is going to be a huge challenge for us all, but we also hope that it will be immensely rewarding. I do ask that children make a commitment and stick with it. It is very difficult to cast and set a show if I do not know who is actually taking part!
