Table Tennis Finals

What an exciting day we had in Bournemouth at the Table Tennis Finals!

On Saturday 21st March we took our Girls’ Table Tennis team to Bournemouth for the South East Finals. They had won through all their earlier rounds and had now made it to the finals!

It was quite a long way to travel so the girls all went on Friday evening to make sure they were there in time.

Mrs Light and I set off ridiculously early on Saturday morning to make sure we were there in time!

The girls had three other Schools to play against and they certainly came up against some tough opposition!

Their first round was against Chalfont St. Peters and we lost 3 games to 5 against some very aggressive supporting and tactics.

Our second round was against Barnes School Richmond where again we lost 3 games to 5, but the matches were really close and Ilyssa managed to beat their top seed to love!

The final round was against Park School, the local school in Bournemouth where again there were some really close matches but we finished the day on a high, winning 7 games to 1!

Getting as far as we did puts our girls in the top 12 teams in the Country which is a fantastic achievement and both Mrs Light and I were immensely proud of the girls who played magnificently and didn’t once let their heads drop or think about giving up. They were wonderful representatives of the school and we all had a great day!
