Pine Class made the Isle of Struay, after learning all about it over the last few weeks. Today we plotted out the island with string and our premade houses and shops and then used the Bebbots to navigate our way around Struay!
Cedar class enjoyed some fruit tasting with Mrs Mills as part of their work on healthy breakfasts. They tried a range of fruit including pineapple, raspberry, passion fruit, melon and cherry. The children are going to design and make their own healthy breakfast consisting of granola, yoghurt and fruit. Yummy!
This morning Cedar class took part in some fun activities organised by Rising Stars. They had a go on a pirate bouncy castle, team building games, nerf gun games and archery. The children really enjoyed themselves and it was lovely to see them having some fun!

Pine have had a busy few days preparing to make our sculptures using natural materials, in the style of Andy Goldsworthy. We estimated that we collected over 15,000 daisies to make these sculptures and we are very happy with how our work turned out.
On Monday 17th May the Year 2 classes went to visit Mountfitchet Castle. They will be learning about castles in their History lessons and are also having a go at designing and making their own castles in Design Technology. We had a wonderful trip to on Monday. We explored Mountfitchet Castle and The House on the Hill Toy Musuem. This was great fun and helped develop our understanding of castles. It also gave us some good ideas to help build our own castles. Here are some photos from our day!
Here is a help sheet for using bar modelling for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The children should be fairly confident with this! The help sheet also includes fraction work in case this is needed.
