Information from Mrs Driver

School fete
Please keep the fete date – 8th June 2019 – firmly fixed in your mind and watch out for the letters coming out asking for different items. There are rotas up in the reception classrooms and in the office area for you to sign up to help out. This is our major fund raising event of the year and we are currently looking to develop some of the outside areas around the school and to get more equipment. Money raised from the fete will support this and other projects around school. I would also like to thank the parents who helped out with the bowling Alley at Fair in the Square on Saturday. It was a great event and lovely to see so many of you there.

North Wales
On Sunday 19th May our Year 6 pupils are away on their week long residential to North Wales. Mrs Hall and I are both accompanying them so if you have an urgent matter whilst we are away, please see Mrs Wheat Monday – Wednesday and Mrs Light, Thursday or Friday. Let’s hope we see some Welsh sunshine!

Walk to School Week
Next week is Walk to School Week. Mrs Wheat has already written to all parents about this and it would be lovely to see lots of people walking, cycling or scooting to school. I have been told that as a result of our participation in the Active Travel week, we are being awarded a Scooter Pod! This will mean we have a proper place to store scooters for the main school. I just need to try and win one now for the reception playground!

Surveys
As mentioned in the last newsletter, we are currently conducting our pupil and parent surveys. The children have completed their surveys in school and the parent survey is an online one. The parent’s survey is still live and will be open until 24th May for you to complete online at https://is.gd/WilliamRansomParent Your replies are confidential. If you do not have access to a PC or tablet please do not hesitate to contact us and we can arrange for you to use school computers.

Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to come in to see me.

Yours sincerely
Mary Driver
