Information from Mrs Driver

Winter Wonderland
Wow!! What an amazing day we had on Saturday at The Winter Wonderland. It was a wonderful event and thanks must go to everyone who helped in any way. We had people who came along to help set up, there were people who had been beavering away for weeks getting things ready for the Secret Present Room, there were people who came along and helped out on the day, running stalls and there were a group who came in or stayed right to the end to clean the school and help to put it back ready for Monday morning. And leading all of this were the SPA who worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. You were all amazing! Thank you so much!

It looks like we have raised over £4500 which is incredible! This money will be put to good use – we are currently updating the IT suite to accommodate Windows 10 and we would like to arrange some workshops and visiting speakers to engage the children.

Hitchin Partnership
You may remember last Christmas we assisted the Hitchin Partnership in their quest to send hampers to different families in need across Hitchin. This is something we would like to repeat so this year we are collecting boxes of 6 mince pies. If you think you could support us in this, please send a box of 6 mince pies into school as soon as possible.

Phil the Bag
We have Phil the Bags in School on Thursday 22nd November 2018. If you have clothes or materials you want to get rid of, please bring them into school before 9.00am. Thank you.

Miss Ayliffe
It is with regret that I have to tell you that Miss Ayliffe will be leaving at Christmas. She is moving to the Midlands and we both agree that is too long a commute! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Sian as my deputy and I will miss her calm, level headed approach.

Mrs Mitchell will be teaching Cherry Class for the remainder of the academic year and Mrs Thomas will be covering Mrs Mitchell’s teaching duties.

I am very pleased to announce that for the remainder of this academic year Mrs Wheat and Mrs Hall will be taking on the roles of Assistant Headteachers and I am looking forward to working with both of them very closely.

Mrs Tite has now gone on maternity leave and as soon as there is any news on baby Tite we will let you all know. Her teaching commitments will be covered by Mrs Anne Morris.

Miss Rebekah Shaw will continue to teach Ash Class.

School closed
Just a reminder that school will be closed on Friday 23rd November for an occasional day and on Monday 26th November for an INSET Day.

Please remember if there is anything you would like to discuss with me, do not hesitate to make an appointment.

Yours sincerely
Mary Driver
