Information from Mrs Driver

Welcome back!
It wasn’t the sunniest of Easter breaks was it? Still, I hope you have all had a lovely time! Hopefully the weather will now start to warm up and we will be able to enjoy a summer term full of all our usual outside activities! There are lots of exciting projects planned for this term and we will keep you up to date with all the events on Twitter and on the school website. Please keep an eye on both of these to find out what is happening. Don’t forget we will also be using Twitter to remind you about club activities. We would also ask that you help us in trying to make your children more independent. Please encourage them to remember all their belongings for school, there shouldn’t be a need for parents to bring in PE bags!

Lunch menu
In an effort to save paper and admin time we are going to be sending home a 3 weekly rota for dinner menus. The majority of children have the same thing each cycle and so they will be able to order for each half term in one go. If they make a mistake and don’t like what they have ordered after the first try they can always go and talk to Mrs Halliwell who will help them to make any necessary adjustments. Please help your children to choose food they like and will eat! Thank you for your assistance with this.

NO PARKING!
Please remember that on the last newsletter I asked that no parents park in the school car park unless you have been given a parking permit. This is to keep your children safe! If this causes you any difficulty, please come and see me.

Diary dates
On the reverse of this newsletter you will see the dates known so far for the summer term. Please avoid any absences during term time, especially as we have so many public holidays at this time of year.

School fete
Please keep the fete date – 9th June 2017 – firmly fixed in your mind and watch out for the letters coming out asking for different items. The fete is our main fund raising event for the year and we do rely very heavily upon parental involvement. Speak to any member of the SPA if you would like to offer your services on the day! However, before that on Friday 11th May we have a new SPA event, Prosecco, Pigs and Puddings – an unusual combination, but guaranteed to be a great night’s entertainment! Then the following day, Saturday 12th May, we are participating in the Joint Schools Summer Fete held on Hitchin Town Market Place. We are running the bowling alley so please come along and support us! It is open from 10.00am – 2.00pm.

Please remember if you have any concerns about your child at school, do not hesitate to come in to see me.

Yours sincerely
Mary Driver
