Hertfordshire Governor Awards

Thank you to everyone who wished me luck for last weekends’ Hertfordshire Governors award ceremony, where I had been lucky enough to be shortlisted for an award.

In front of Mrs Driver, Mrs Shibli (Vice Chair), and over 600 Governors from across Hertfordshire, I was extremely proud to win the Hertfordshire Outstanding School Governor Award 2015.

On Thursday I attended Achievers assembly in school, where Mrs Driver re-presented the award in front of staff and pupils and of course, I received my Achievers sticker!

It is my privilege to be Chair of Governors at such an Outstanding school.   And as I enter my fourth year as Chair and twelfth as a Governor, this is probably going to be the most exciting period for the school.  The expansion of the school will not only provide excellent educational facilities for the current pupils, but also to many more children for the years to come.

My sincere thanks to Mrs Driver and fellow governors who way back in May, nominated me for this award.  They kept it a secret until only a month ago, just before I received the invitation to attend the awards ceremony!  And I thought I knew everything which went on at school!!

My thanks to staff and pupils who spoke to the judges when they visited – obviously you must have said all the right things.  Also, many thanks to those parents who were kind enough to pass on their congratulations when I saw them at the Winter Wonderland on Saturday.

Kind regards

Ian Hankin
