Harvest Festival

Friday saw our annual Harvest Festival and once again William Ransom came up trumps and we had a fantastic array of fruit and vegetables!

Most children in school had brought along an item of fresh produce and they brought it down to assembly to add to the wonderful display we were creating. Many had brought along fruit and vegetables grown in their own gardens which was fantastic!

Mrs Driver started the assembly by talking about what harvest festival is all about and how, although it is a Christian festival, lots of different religions have their own thanksgiving festivals.

She then used some of the produce to put together a Harvest Rainbow. It is amazing how many different colours there are in nature and in all the fruit and vegetables that were brought into school.

After assembly Mrs Mills and her trusty band of helpers boxed and ‘basketed’ up all the produce into 49 hampers. These were raffled off to all members of the school community and we raised a tremendous £176 which will be sent to The Hitchin Partnership Hardship Fund to support families in need within the Hitchin family of schools.

Thank you to everyone who supported Harvest Festival.
