ESFA Tournament

We recently took part in the ESFA, where we had mixed success. We started with a good performance against Highover, managing to secure a 2-0 win. There was some excellent passing and brilliant finishes. Our next two matches were against the eventual winners and runners up of the tournament and so we were facing strong opposition.

We did very well against Ickleford but were unable to take our chances. We were duly punished by a strong team after making mistakes for both goals, in the 2-0 defeat.

Our last game against Wilshere Dacre was an important one, as it was the deciding factor in who progressed from our group. We have also suffered a recent defeat against them, which added to the pressure. We played extremely well throughout but could not find that crucial goal. The match finished 0-0 and that was enough to take Wilshere Dacre and Ickleford through to the semis. They eventually met again in the final, with Ickleford taking home the trophy.
