Class 5/6W make mince pies during Design and Technology lesson

On Wednesday afternoon, the children in Class 5/6W made mince pies with the help of Mrs Mills and Mrs Halliwell.

The first stage of the process was to roll out the pastry.  The children then had to cut 12 discs – 6 small and 6 large.  They then placed the larger of the two discs into the moulds on the baking tray before filling them up with mincemeat.  To finish off, the children then placed the smaller disc on top and they were placed in the oven by Mrs Mills to bake.  The aroma from the mince pies could be smelt throughout the whole school.

In class the children then made their own boxes to transport the mince pies home.
