Class 2 visit St Mary’s Church

Class 2 were lucky enough to have a lovely sunny day for their walk to St Mary’s Church today. We all enjoyed the fresh air, not to mention the biscuit when we arrived! Reverend Roden was there to meet us and told the children all about the church.

At first the children had a look around, while Reverend Roden told them facts and regaled them with stories about the church. All the children were keen to both ask and answer questions about the things they could see. Afterwards the children completed their worksheets before heading outside to see the signs of a church from the outside. They were fascinated by the gargoyles, particularly when Reverend Roden told them that there was a very new gargoyle with the face of a previous vicar!

We all had a wonderful morning.
