Last Thursday, 12th November, members of the School Council ran a cake sale to raise money for Children in Need. Some of the older members had made posters and put these up around the school prior to the day, and the amount of cakes donated was overwhelming.
The School Council helped Mrs Mills and Mrs Halliwell to set up the table with all the cakes in the morning and then they ran the sale, collecting money and giving out stickers to the youngest classes. The selection of cakes was amazing – a huge thank you goes out to everybody who took their time to donate so generously to this worthy cause.
After school, the remaining cakes were sold on the playground and again parents were very generous in their donations. The total raised for Children in Need was £274.01 which is a fantastic amount. Thank you very much to everyone who donated cakes and money and, of course, a big thank you to the School Council who organised the event.
