Bringing Kensuke’s Kingdom to Life

Willow Class (along with the rest of KS2) were treated to a masterclass in performing arts when a West End performer taught them a dance to represent the classic Morpurgo book's storyline.

Firstly the class, in groups, devised a freeze frame based on a key event in the story. One group looked at the storm when Michael was thrown overboard. The next group highlighted when the protagonist was washed up on the beach of a desert island.

The third group represented the characters' attempts to make a fire and the final group looked at Michael being stung by a jellyfish then saved by Kensuke.

These were then brought to life with movement and the remainder of the story shown in a dance.

The children had a great time and huge thanks for Christie and her excellent teaching.
