Magnificent Mountains in Maple Class

Maple Class have been learning all about mountains in Geography this term.   They have found out how mountain ranges are made and also about the physical features of mountains.

To link to their knowledge of continents, the class have also learned the names of the highest mountain peaks found in each continent along with some facts about each of these mountains.   They then went on to create their mountains out of papier mache.  It was messy work but well worth it as the final creations were very impressive!

  • Making the papier mache

  • Good messy fun!

  • Tearing the paper is certainly the less messy option

  • The mountain is taking shape

  • It takes a lot of papier mache to make one of the highest mountains in the world!

  • A huge lump of 'rock'

  • Vinson Massif

  • Carstensz Pyramid

  • Mount Kilimanjaro

  • Mount Everest

  • Mount McKinlay

  • Mount Elbrus

  • This mountain is certainly taking shape
